Hawke's Bay Cabernet Merlot
Carefully selected from vineyards throughout the Hawke’s Bay region, we combine soft, textural Merlot with robust Cabernet Sauvignon. The result is a full-flavoured dry red wine which is softly textured with a spicy finish.
Tasting Notes:
Opulent and warm aromas with cassis, black plum and nutmeg.
Plush, dense and concentrated. Ripe black and red fruits – blackberry, plum and a big hit of cocoa on the finish. Fleshy smooth and generous.
Production Notes:
The grapes for this Cabernet Sauvignon/ Merlot blend were fermented on skins to with careful cap management to achieve a dense mouthfeel without astringency . The blend was assembled and the wine spent a further 16 months with oak prior to bottling.
Recommended Food:
Enjoy it with a whole scotch fillet ideally cooked on the bbq. Also would make a good partner for ratatouille.
Recommended Cellaring:
2-7 years
